You Need To Know What This Grandmaster Taught Me – Hyper Accelerated Dragon

Hey there my name is MikeySlice and this is
episode 4 of Grandmaster Teaches Grasshopper, and I’m startin’ right now. Mikey, Mikey, Mikey! Tactics, tactics, tactics! He’s got no back rank support. If this is your first time here and you want
to learn more about Chess make sure you subscribe and hit the bell so you don’t miss anything! Unrated. I will say, please challenge unrated. All right, another accelerated Dragon. Let’s do it g6. All right, you’re good. Bishop g7 or Knight c6 both of them work. It doesn’t matter. Knight f6 is next. Ooh. Just be careful make sure… Even with this here? This is one of those moves that’s just a bad
move. No, no, no. Don’t do that. Ask yourself questions. What’s this Knight doing on d5. He’s just going to get hit by the pawn right? E6. Niel correct! That Knight is totally useless on d5. And that pawn. Even though that pawn is blocking your Bishop,
now your knight can be super flexible. Your Knight can go to e7 and not block the
Bishop. I actually like Knight e7 more. And now we can go to d5? Or castle? Yeah castle is not bad. Chess.com hahha. People want to hear your thought process. That’s actually very important. I want to hear my student’s thought process
too. Why don’t you tell us how you’re thinking. What’s your next move. Pawn d5 is the next move I’m thinking of. Because it hits the Bishop. Okay. So thinking. I want a slice of pizza. Hahha. Are you guys hungry for pizza? Can you give some people some pizza Mikey? Haha I wish. Everything that crosses through my mind you
want to hear? Okay. So we’re thinking of going Bishop takes b2. Which is god awful, but since you guys want
to know everything I’m thinking okay, there you go. So then the other option is we’re thinking
of Bishop to g4, pinning it to the Queen. Another option is Queen to b6. Well if you play Queen b6 he can take your
Knight with his bishop and your knight takes back and then he takes the pawn on d5 and
you lose a pawn. So guys, when you’re calculating always calculate
for your opponent too. What he can do. Because if you always think for yourself and
not for your opponent you’re going to miss moves. So be careful. The queen is guarding the d5 pawn so if the
bishop takes knight you take with the other knight. I actually like the move a6. I want to get 2 bishops. Remember the elephant is better than the horse. The elephant is bigger than the horse. Now we gotta capture with the Knight so it’s
not hanging anymore after we move the queen right? Exactly. There you go. Now we have the advantage of 2 bishops. When the game is open like this. Now of course there’s exceptions when the
knights are better than the bishops. Which is closed positions, but when the position
is open like that then bishops are monsters. That’s correct only if it’s closed positions. The only exception. Okay, so he doesn’t want his rook anymore
so we should take it. Oh misclick? I think Value didn’t mean to make that move. Yeah that’s what they all say. That’s what they all say Value. Hahahha. That’s life. That’s right. Don’t touch the piece if you don’t want to
move it. You know in a tournament I once hung my queen. I touched, yeah I made a move and I couldn’t,
so yeah. You gotta be really careful. How can we trap this bishop? Well what’s his threat? He’s hitting your bishop I think right? Yeah, well, I’m already thinking of going
bishop c3 threatening his rook, but I was thinking about after that. How can we trap his Bishop. No, I think you’re over thinking this position. So just play the one move? Yeah, because the bishop is under attack. You’ll figure things out as they happen, but
don’t waste time. Try to be practical. Don’t waste time on unnecessary moves all
right guys? Maybe that’s my problem. I over calculate. No, sometimes calculation is key right? But knowing when to calculate and when not
to calculate. See now, he wants to take your pawn on c5
right? Little guys are important in Chess guys. So are we protecting him or pushing d4 and
threatening his… Well I don’t want to block in our Bishop on
d4 so I want to protect with the Queen. It’s just a trade fest. We’re up 5 points of material so we like trade
fests. The rule of thumb is, when you’re ahead trade. When you’re ahead trade. Trade, trade, trade. Chess.com. Actually he could setup a little nasty threat
Knight takes d5 with the idea of Knight e6 check or Knight e7 check. There you go Mikey you gotta solve some problems. Good job value detector. Let’s see if Mikey can figure it out. If you have a space advantage you don’t trade. Correct! If you do have a space advantage it’s in your
best interest to avoid trades. Although if you’re winning. But who cares? Mikey, Mikey, Mikey! Tactics, tactics, tactics! He’s got no back rank support take the Knight
take the Knight. Come on guys! Tactics. Back rank. Number 1. 101. We’re gonna go back. So this is how the game started here guys. Sorry. Everyone now can see Knight f3 g6, c5 yeah. For those of you that could follow blindfold
that’s great. Castle? Yeah caslte of course. As a rule of thumb you want to trade the side
pawns for center pawn. So take that pawn with the pawn. So you get the other bishop out to d7 or g4. D7 is probably good. You see guys? This is the Dragon setup. We’re going to play on the half open c file
and we’re going to swing with the tail. Remember? The dragon swings with the tail. 2 main strategies here for black. One is a6 b5 swinging with the pawns. The other one is rook c8 Knight e5 and Knight
c4, trying to occupy that outpost with our knight. I really like Rook c8 here. Yeah Rook c8 is very nice. Half open file. I would take with the Bishop. You could take with the pawn, but it’s a little
bit more natural to take with the Bishop. It’s very important guys that we don’t take
the Knight with our knight. Knight takes d5 is a mistake. He’s going to take with the pawn opening the
rook and pressuring our e7 pawn. Make sense? Yep. So we’re going to do the swinging motion. B5 followed by a5. Swing with the tail guys. Okay so do we…. We take with the bishop right? Yeah, you never take with the pawn unless
you have to. You’re going to ruin your pawn structure if
you do that. All right I would swing with the tail again. Swing with the tail, that’s right. A4 I think is the right move. We gotta swing with the tail one more time
to get our Bishops range extended breathing fire down his neck. B4 or A3? I like a3 more. Pawn storm. Swing with the tail. Remember that. So now we get a chance to put his queen in
a very unfavorable position by trading on b2. I like that. Put your queen on a5 and extend the range
of your attack. Go for the queen trade. Queen a3. Yep. So we actually have a superior endgame. Rook takes. Now double the rooks on the a file. And we want to swing our bishop around to
e6 to trade off his strong bishop. So bishop d7 and then bishop e6. You actually could have taken on b3. He can take your rook move that out of the
way. He actually blundered. Did you guys see that? That’s okay though. We’re going to give him that. Take that. Ohhh, we blundered, but you have no time left. So good job unc07 for trying to beat us on
time, even though Mikey is totally winning right now. Hahhaha. All right that’s going to do it for today’s
video thank you so much for watching. Make sure you leave a comment below, let us
know how we did so we can make better content in the future. Slice ya later!
