Wizard’s Chess Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone HD

No, Ron no.
¿Qué sucede? Él se va a sacrificar.
No lo hagas, debe haber otra forma. ¿Quieres impedir que Snape robe la piedra
o no? Harry, tú eres el que tiene que continuar,
lo sé. No debo ir yo, ni Hermione. Tú. H3 Caballo Jaque. ¡Ron!
No, no te muevas. No lo olvides, aun no termina. Jaque mate.

  1. Every time somebody calls this film ‘the sorcerers stone’ instead of its proper uk name, a house elf dies somewhere

  2. To tell the truth, Harry didn't checkmate, it was just a check, queen would've blocked him, but only then Harry could take her and checkmate, it seems the white just surrendered.

  3. Aww! At this point Hermione already likes Ron and both Ron and Hermione realize that Harry is the one who has to go on and face Voldemort!

  4. The position Can't be spoiled much! No scene explained what is the exact position in which he played this. And no credits given to the IM who created this puzzle. Very bad on the part of the Harry Potter crew

  5. they really fucked this sene up. it wasent even chekmate, it was chekmate in 2… and you can bairly see the position! the queen could move infornt of harry and then he would have to take the queen and then it would have been chekmate.

  6. Or since Ron had control over the chess pieces just get them all to destroy each other then wait until there is plenty of room to walk around the remaining piece?

  7. Oh Ronnie, sweet thing, this part crushed me, just look at how Harry and Hermione hate for this to happen. Poor Ron, but it's at this moment where it's proven that he's a real Gryffindor.

  8. Question: how would Harry ‘take’ a piece?
Like if he’s the bishop and he captures a piece, does he just awkwardly try to push it out the way? Or does he whip out his wand and AVADA KEDAVRA the shit out of a statue?

  9. wait harry's a bishop how did he checkmate the king, or check for that matter, if he was right in front of him? was it a discovered attack??

  10. Good thing Harry or Hermione didn't get taken out, they probably would have died. Ron got lucky that he was on the horse.

  11. Three rings for the Elven-kings under the sky,

Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,

Nine for mortal men doomed to die,

    One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne;

In the Land of Mordor where the shadows lie.

One ring to rule them all, one ring to find them,

    One ring to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them;

In the Land of Mordor where the shadows lie.

  12. For those of you questioning Ron falling off the Knight @ the end, it looks like he just fell but if you look closely, you'll see that pieces of the Knight figure he was riding on hit him on the head twice after the Queen attacked his chess piece. So even though the Queen didn't hurt him, he still got hurt both when he fell, and again by the pieces of the big STONE Knight figure he was on. (Duh)🙄

  13. Here Ron has shown he's brave and everyone is brave 💛❤️ i love this chess scene❤️💛 im team Gryffindor❤️im big lover of harry potter ❤️#potterhead ❤️💛

  14. ron: Harry its YOU that has to go on not me not hermione, YOU. cos I'm too scared so I'd rather die playing chess ya know harry?
    harry: ron…
hermione: that was so beautiful! tears in her eyes

  15. When I watched this movie first time in 2003 i was around 6
i thought Ron was dead here at this moment.
And I feel so sad and I was like gosh he was such a good, funny guy and brave too but he sacrificed his life:/

  16. I really like this scene. It's very ominous and the music builds up tension really well. The way the king's sword just drops at the end is nice, too.

  17. If I was there, my team would suffer barely any casualties. I have been playing chess since I was 5 for 13 years. Self taught myself the rules on the computer, playing on Kasparov difficulty. I wish wizard’s chess was real.

  18. What do you think would have happened if Harry or Hermione had to sacrifice themselves to win the game? What would the queen have done to them. We all knew Ronald would sacrifice himself since he had an actual piece. But what about the other 2.

  19. wasnt even mate as queen had one last move to block the bishop
and why did ron have to climb on top of a knight? all pieces moved by voice command, he could've chosen to climb any piece, like the king 😛

  20. You know what's this says about the wizard world? Their chess engines are garbage. Muggles are superior.

  21. Did you really have to sacrifice himself he could have just said Knight to h3 then gotten off that Knight peace?😕

  22. Correct me if I’m wrong, but couldn’t he have just gotten down from the knight? I mean he got up there by himself so there must’ve been a way back down

  23. For those who are interested, the opening was the Centre Counter regarded as an inferior opening for Black It disappeared long ago from top level chess although it still occasionally appears as a surprise weapon.

  24. Pretty ingenious to compose a game where the Queen's Rook(Hermione) and the King's Bishop(Harry) weren't taken 🙂

  25. Did anyone notice that the Black Queen's Knight already had a rider but the King's Knight didn't (?) Guess it was fate that Ron would choose to be a Knight (!) 🙂

  26. Watching this clip reminded me that chess was(and still is) played with living pieces. One medieval Sultan used to compel captured prisoners to take part in a live game played by two blind monks. Every time they captured a piece, they condemned it to death. Gruesome! Dying Chess might be a better description(!) 🙁

  27. Ron seems to lose his queen very early, it's shown to be the second black piece to be cut down, while still being flanked by the king and the knight. Obviously it was not a queen trade because the white queen is the one wrecking all the shit later in the game. It's hard to believe that Ron lost his most valuable piece so early on, and harder still to believe that he managed to recover after that. Perhaps McGonagal was good at making living chess figures, but sucked at making them actually play chess competently?
