Schachcomputer “Chess Master” – #unboxingDDR (English Subtitles)


The Chess Master is a chess computer. It was designed
in the beginning of the 80s. This chess computer is of significant size,
it is built with high quality. It was built at
VEB Mikroelektronik “Karl Marx”. This is part of the combine
Mikroelektronik in Erfurt. Heart of the computer
is an 8-bit-chip type U880D. It had a proud price
of 1580 Mark and was presentet in 1984
at several fairs. The name of this chess computer
was also used for the DDR computer game
“Video Chess Master”. The labeling on the Chess Master
was in english. There you can see well, that this model
was meant to be exportet. A funny anecdote is,
that a prototype of this chess computer participated in the chess computer
world championships in Budapest in 1983 and gained the second place.
