When I got the title, there was a flow, flow of the tournaments: 36 in that year One of my proud moment, I was able to make Nepal’s first WFM : Sujana Lohani. Similarly Sooshan Gautam who is currently studying doctor, Yubraj Puadel, Prasana Bikram Kuwar, Janil Miya, Gaurav Nepal are good students of mine. Nepal’s Bibek Things win international tournament, what do you think NCA should for them? Happy Moment is because of my student Sujana Lohani when she became Nepal’s first WFM Sad Moment was when I was not able to play one national game Namaste!! Today we have a special guest, special in a sense that he is previous Nepal’s champion as well Nepal’s first Fide Master. Welcome to our channel, Manish Sir Thank you!! How and when did you start playing chess? At first, I got interested from my brother’s friends who was playing at Baktapur. Then I start playing from my school days, played in different levels: school, national and even international. This way chess entered in my life. As we know you are FM, till now how many international tournaments did you play? I played many international tournament, I don’t remember but may be 10-15 Among them which one is your best achievement? My best achievements, first was that I was the first person to break a record for Nepal, in 2008 Germany I became first Fide Master. After that in Open International tournament in Jhapa I won the tournament. Similarly in India I became second n many more. As you played many international tournament, had you have family support? Because of family support I am at this place Especially my sister and her husband supported me more in everything. I thank them Thank you!! I think you are lucky because in chess to get family support is really hard. And did you get any support from any other means like NCA? There was little support NCA as well but main support was from our club Kantipur Chess Club. Ramesh Bhandari president of the club supported me. As you its very hard for players to play tournament and all for all other means even that condition they supported me alot We all should be proud because after gaining a title there will changes for sure So do you believe after your title was there changes in Nepal chess or not? Yes it came, after I got title there was flow of the tournament, there used to be one or 2 tournament only. But that year there was 36 regular tournament. For which Rajesh Hari Sir worked really hard and even association created good environemnt. If anyone doesnot know Fide Master, not only in Nepal it is big title in the world. Right now, Manish Sir what are you doing for your livelihood? Today’s context I am doing personal and school chess coaching at Rato Bangla School, Deepyoti Previously I use to teach Greenland, Goldenpic, Pioneer , New Sumit and many more but because of time I left It seems you have alot of students, do you have any big achievement of your student? I have a proud moment my own student Sujana Lohani became Nepal’s first WFM Similarly, Sooshan Gautam, Yubraj Paudel, Janil Miya, Prasana Bikram Kuwar, Gaurav Nepal and many more. play well and improving. For reminder Sujana Lohani already played 2 Olympiad game, she is Manish Sir student In boys Sooshan Gautam and all are very good players. And what is your personal goal in chess? My main goal now is to make my student get success and I have a request to NCA to organize scholarship tournament to students which will motivate them Current a Nepal Boy Bivek thing won a international tournament, what do you think NCA should do for them? Thank you!! I was really waiting for these type of question We didn’t get that doesn’t matter but for these kind of player we all must collect money for them because they worked very hard to reach that level And winning in international tournament is very good also he have increased rating gradually So for those player I think we must collect money make them able to get training from GMs such that they grow their level even more It’s a nice thought I think NCA will focus on these things Again we are changing the track, of our talk In this long journey of chess, do you have any happy moment and sad moment. Happy moment was when my own student Sujana Lohani became first WFM That moment I was so happy I use to see her game everyday it was happy because we will be more happy when our student get success in their life Sad Moment was when I couldn’t play one national game Even if I got the official paper from National Sport Council to play but I wasn’t let to play from NCA Playing National was not big thing but I had to return back from Dankuta & players who should play couldn’t play but who shouldn’t was able to play which was sad moment but that didn’t hamper my life However I feel everything should be in system and politics in chess should stop According to my knowledge you use to sing as well when did you feel leaving your singing career I was taking both together but after I broke international record for Nepal I thought I can do something in chess saw my future in chess then I left singing We remind you all Manish sir is good singer as well, we will adding this in next video. We have a last question for sir For a chess player how should he manage his time? Its like eating food, you should be regular for it 5,10, 20 any time you can give but it should be regular Viewer watching the video if want to improve their chess then they must have consistency in chess We can play online like chess.com, chesscube.com I play in that Now we are almost end of the video Thank you for giving your previous time for this interview.
