Montini: Trump’s playing poker with Congress, but they are playing chess

(cards shuffling) President Donald Trump thinks
he’s playing poker. He decided that he’s tired of this whole Russia
investigation thing, looking into his campaign. So he fires the director of the FBI, looks
at his hand. He decides he’s going to go all in. He’s going to dare Congress to call his bluff. But the thing is, in Washington, they don’t
play poker. They play chess. And in chess, you have to be patient. And they take their time. They are willing to sacrifice a pawn or two
in order to put themselves in a more advantageous position. It’s tough. So the president, he might be thinking to
himself, I’m going to go all in. And I’m going to make them call my bluff. It’s not going to work that way. Instead, what they might call, at some point,
is “check mate.” (knocks over king)
