How to solve and learn tactical patterns from Chess Puzzles: Chessworld.net Puzzle Practice #80

Hi all – I thought we could do a puzzle from www.chessworld.net – Play menu… rated puzzles section .. so okay .. so the Play..Rated Puzzles section – will click start and let’s choose one which is a good rating on
this has got a good rating 3.8 out 5 – alright … so it’s so black to play… the forcing
move Rxf2 stands out to me – Queen takes there’s another move here which is
interesting I wonder if you can spot it?! I’m thinking Rh1+
so if Kg2 Rh2+ to drag the King away from the Queen so the
upshot is we can take on f2 – and I think that’s decisive there actually .. Or
is it?! that it should be pretty destructive hmm Rxf2 Qxf2 Rh1
King takes Qxf2 the rooks attacked if Bd2 Bg2
if Be3 Qxg3 or Qf3 – it looks pretty destructive
so I’m gonna go with this as the first move okay and then we go this – now Rh2 …
drag and drop tactic .. alright that’s that little puzzle today I hope you got it
as well – let’s have a look at the master game it came from Hegyes vs Nemes – how did he get that position?! – yeah this is a Schliemann … is pretty risky for black usually –
But here yeah … Black has got a lot of play let’s flip that over
there – let’s see if I can do a Schliemann in one of my blitz games ..
okay Black got a very very aggressive position just castling
queenside – very nice play aggressive anyway – very aggressive stuff so here I guess
White wanted to protect c2 – probably yeah yeah missing Rxf2 and
– it’s easy to miss – nice little tactic there from that master game.
comments questions like shares appreciated – thanks very much

  1. Not that good of a puzzle imo.
Rxf2, Qxf2, Rh1+, Kxh1, Qxf2, Bf4 and black only has perpetual check at the end.
