# Heart chess episode 3 Movements of some pieces 2

yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah Hello! My name is John. In this video I
will continue talking about the movements of the pieces in a heart chess. I will start with a knight. Knight moves horizontally or vertically two squares and one square. I’d like to show it with
pegs. It can move to four spaces. Pay attention like L shape. For example in
this position it may capture the pawn. In initial position the knight may move here or here. It can jump over the
pieces, so therefore it can move here. Next piece is a bomb. Its movement is exactly the same like a
knight that is L shape and in this position it can move to these four squares. L shape L L. Now what is the difference between
a bomb and the knight? The first difference is bomb explodes when it
attacks or is attacked. let’s say in this position it may capture the pawn but at the same
time it also dies or bishop may attack the bomb and they both disappear from the board. This is the first difference The next difference is king cannot
capture the bomb but it can capture the knight. Tiger can move to any direction
two squares. For example, in this position its possible movements are 24
spaces; here 8 and here 16 total 24. It may also jump over other pieces like bomb and knight. So in this position it may move either here or here I want
to show it with pegs. Tiger can checkmate the king on its own. let’s say the king is here and the tiger is
is here. In this position tiger can checkmate the king in one move. That is, it moves here and attacks the king. The possible movements of the king are these spaces, but they are all
attacked by a tiger and these pieces block the king’s movement. So in this position checkmate. This is a heart. Heart cannot be captured and it cannot
move on it’s own. It can move by exchanging the position of a friendly piece, except king and pawn. It means in this position, for example, this can move. This is one move. The heart may come here and the rook may come here. Or let’s say bomb, knight, tiger, queen, bishop they may also change their position. But
there is a special rule for a bishop. The bishop the bishop may exchange position if it
is in the same color. This bishop cannot move here because it’s on a black space
and the heart is on white square. This bishop may move here, because they are both on black squares. Let’s say this is here. In this position Bishop cannot this Bishop cannot
exchange its position with hearts because they are both on white squares
but Bishop is on black square but this Bishop can move here or
here. Both are legal. Now I’d like to talk
about the abbreviations. when you write then you use abbreviations for the
pieces. K is for a king. B is for a bishop. That is the first letter. R is for a rook, Q is for a queen, P is for a pawn. I wrote it in brackets because when
we write we don’t mention p. We just write it as it is. we just write the movement. The next piece is a tiger. T is for a tiger Now For knight we use the second letter, not K but N. For a bomb we also use the second letter, not B but
O. Because K is used for a king, B is used for a bishop. so we use the second letters here and
the last one is H. H is for a heart. If you have paid attention they are written in blue and they’re in red.
These pieces that are in blue cannot jump over other pieces, but these pieces
tiger, knight, bomb or heart can jump over other pieces. Therefore I wrote them in red. That’s all for today. Now we gonna have a quiz and
quotations about love and mind.
