God’s Strategy

God’s Strategy

Chess is a game that I don’t understand and I’m not very good at, because, you see, you have to have a strategy, and you need to know a strategy in order to be able to win. It’s a very strategic game. And, you know, I’ve discovered that there are a lot of people who aren’t very good at life because they don’t know the strategy for life. Now there’s a strategy that’s much bigger than what I can think of or even you can think of. God has a strategy for you. God has a plan for you. God wants to use you. And if you know Jesus, if he’s living inside of you, you can know his plan and his strategy. You say, “Well, Sammy, what is God’s strategy?” It’s very interesting in the Bible. You see, there were a group of people that Jesus called to follow him. They weren’t the great scholars. They weren’t the great politicians of the day They were simple, ordinary people fishermen, tax collectors. Jesus called them, and those people turned the world upside down, according to the Scripture. Now how did they do that? They understood God’s strategy. Well, what was it? Right before Jesus ascended to the right hand of the Father, he gave them that strategy. He told them to go into all the world and preach, but he said, “First, wait in Jerusalem for the promise of the Father.” And we find that in Acts, chapter 1, they’re in a prayer meeting. Acts, chapter 2, Peter stands and he preaches with power. The coward who had denied Jesus three times now is the courageous man, and he preaches Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit and 3,000 people are converted. In Acts, chapter 3, Peter and John are going to a prayer meeting. They see a lame man. They pray for him. He’s healed. And do you know what happens? God moves in a mighty way. Acts, chapter 4, the church is praying, and then they proclaim. And you just keep going. All through the book of Acts, you find the strategy of God. They pray and they proclaim. They pray and they proclaim. The strategy of God has never changed. We must call people to pray. We must become a people of prayer. And out of that secret place of prayer, we go out and we preach the gospel, we share Jesus with others, and we’ll see God do extraordinary things. God has a strategy. You can be a winner. You don’t have to be a loser, but you’ve got to do it according to God’s way, God’s plan, God’s strategy, and that is pray and then proclaim.
