Blind Chess: Prepare To Blow Your Mind

HOW’S YOUR CHESS GAME? DO YOU FANCY YOURSELF TO BE PRETTY GOOD? MAY BE GOOD ENOUGH TO TAKE ON A GRANDMASTER? NEW AT 5:00, PHOTOJOURNALIST MIKE KINNEY TAKES US ALL TO UT DALLAS WHERE THE CHESS TEAM SET OUT TO TAKE ON ANYONE IN THE LIBRARY WITH ONE SMALL DISADVANTAGE. THIS IS A DAY OF CHESS FEST THAT HAPPENS EVERY YEAR. TWO GRANDMASTERS ARE INVOLVED AND THEY ARE PLAYING BLINDFOLDED CHESS AGAINST ALL COMERS. WE ARE PLAYING BLINDFOLDED GAMES, ONE OF US WILL BE BLINDFOLDED SITTING IN THIS CHAIR AWAY FROM THE BOARD, CAN’T SEE ANYTHING. THE OTHER PERSON WILL BE CALLING OUT THEIR OPPONENTS MOVES. BISHOP TAKES C 6. I CAN’T EVEN IMAGINE. I CAN’T IMAGINE BEING ABLE TO KEEP ALL THE MOVES AND PIECES IN YOUR HEAD LIKE THAT. IT’S INTERESTING HOW HE CAN IMAGINE THE CHESSBOARD WHILE BEING BLINDFOLDED. I PLAY CHESS AND IT’S HARD TO IMAGINE FIVE MOVES AHEAD OR THINGS LIKE THAT WHILE BEING, LOOKING AT THE BOARD SO IT’S HARD TO DO WHILE BLINDFOLDED SO IT’S PRETTY IMPRESSIVE. I THINK IT’S ASTOUNDING. MYSELF. BECAUSE I AM OF AN AGE I CAN’T REMEMBER WHAT I DID YESTERDAY. BUT IT APPEARS IT’S VERY EASY AND THEY LEARN INSTINCTIVELY FROM HAVING PLAY CHESS FOREVER. BISHOP B 5. WITH PRACTICE IT’S ACTUALLY NOT AS HARD AS IT SEEMS. IT’S VERY CHALLENGING WHEN EVERYTHING IS AT THE BEGINNING. IT’S EASY TO KEEP TRACK BUT LATER ON IT GETS MORE DIFFICULT. GOOD GAME. I KNOW GOING IN THERE GOING TO PLAY AT A HIGH LEVEL. TOUGH COMPETITION. FOR SURE. THEY ARE BOTH GRANDMASTERS SO I TRIED MY BEST. IT’S A FUN EVENT. SERIOUS PRACTICE THERE WITH THE BLINDFOLDS, THEY ARE GOING TO NEED IT. THE DALLAS CHESS TEAM WILL HEAD TO NEW YORK IN APRIL,

  2. it's all about practicing bro knowing where the pieces on the boards are doing the numbers and the letters because to be honest with you I did the exact same thing doing a shoe program in Corcoran California with this dude right next to me or his cell was right next to mine and we were actually not allowed to talk because we were from rival gangs so what we actually used to do was hit the wall for certain amount of hits for each letter and for each piece so we would actually use basically kind of Morris code so it's not really that hard if you find a system that works where you can both understand
