Hi, I am here at the Exhibition Centre in Bandra Gymkhana where there are different Exhibition stalls. The date is 14th and 15th of December 2018, and time is from 4pm till 10pm. The exhibition stalls selling different materials are organised by hearing societies but there is one special stall that is organised by deaf association. It is Bombay Foundation of Deaf Women, abbreviated as BFDW. The different products and materials sold here are hand-made by the deaf women of Mumbai. I am truly proud of what the deaf can do with such talent, creativity and ideas. Lets go and visit them. Now, I am interviewing the organiser of the stall. May I ask you, within the range of one year, how often have you conducted such exhibitions? In 1 year, we have conducted approximately 15 exhibitions spotaneously at different places. Good! What is the importance of arranging the Exhibition? For the deaf community, especially those who are unemployed and poor. I help them by giving skills training and stitching and encouragement. We collect and sell their hand-made products for money which return to the deaf artists. It is important to support the deaf. May I ask, how do you manage to communicate with the hearing buyers? We communicate by showing the product with price tags or we do some hand gestures which they understood. They are aware of the deaf organisation. In rare cases, we have sign language interpreter. We are flexible with these 3 options. Excellent. I am proud of your initatilve and support for the deaf community. Everyone, please do support this organisation, BFDW. Thank you!
